Lore Forge News, January 2026

It's a new year, and with a new year, another book will be released.

The Next Book

At the time of this writing, I have two-and-a-half chapters left to complete.

As for the audiobook, I regret that I will not be placing this new release on Audible. Audible has changed its terms and conditions for newer releases, which include a royalty plan that is sketchy, to say the least. This has a lot of authors up in arms. Now I've expressed my feelings about this situation in a Substack article, which you can read by clicking on this link. Seeing that I will be locked into that plan for seven (7) years, I can't, in good conscience, continue to produce stuff on Audible given this arrangement. This, of course, is subject to change if Audible reverses course. You can, however, still go to Spotify, Chirp Audiobooks, Kobo, Nook, and the dozens of audiobook providers that also distribute my media. I'm also looking at using the Book Funnel platform to provide audiobook playback through the HPH Lore Forge Store. Given the cost of this book to produce, I'm giving serious thought to crowdfunding the production.

Price Changes

If you're not aware, I have recently reduced the price of The Revenant and the Tomb eBook to 99¢. This is not a limited-time sale, but a permanent markdown. That means you can buy the novella for that new price on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Smashwords, and even at the HPH Lore Forge Store. The prices of the paperback and the audiobook remain unchanged.

While it doesn't affect the pricing of my paperbacks, I'm looking to transition their production to Amazon. Right now, I use Ingram Spark, and I've been quite happy with their service. Using Ingram causes delays with Amazon. I will continue to use Ingram Spark for my storefront; books sold on Amazon will be produced by Amazon.

I've also made some price changes in the Lore Forge store, mainly the paperback bundles. The changes were fairly minor. This year, I'm making more of an effort to keep track of the cost of the items I sell through the store and at events. While some bundles went up, a few of them went down. When you apply the discount code (provided in the next section), you probably won't notice any difference.

The prices on the single paperbacks, eBooks, and eBook bundles (see below) remain unchanged.

The HPH Lore Forge Store

I've partnered with Book Funnel to provide digital content. I've also updated the store so you can buy my eBooks there as well. In the very near future, I'll also be providing access to eBook bundles. The store is still limited to US customers only. However, if you live outside the US and want to take advantage of the discounts I offer in my store, you can always contact me at author@hphunterwriter.com. I did this with someone recently, who lived in the Republic of Korea (South Korea). I was sitting on pins and needles for several days, wondering if they'd ever get the package. :D

Please note that every paperback you purchase is signed by me and comes with a bookmark. I also throw in a little swag...just because.

In Conclusion
